In an effort to bail out needy students from school fee glitches, Ambassadors Charity Trust (ACT) has introduced an initiative dubbed “Education for All, Malawi”.
According to the Director for Ambassadors Charity Trust, Blessings Chiwosi, the aim of the initiative is to link up all willing stakeholders with the needy students to get refundable loans.
“Alot of students struggle and fail to pursue their education due to financial challenges and according to a recent report by Zodiak Broadcasting Station, at least 2000 students are at the edge of dropping out from school due to lack of tuition fees. The “Education for All, Malawi” program will aim at raising refundable loans to assist tertiary Malawian needy students who are at the verge of dropping out of school to achieve their tertiary education” He said.
However, Chiwosi has called upon all willing stakeholders to support the program with finances based on their ability.
“We are calling for all individuals, companies, businesses and organizations to sponsor directly or using any approach considered appropriate for this program to materialize. We assure that there will be transparency and accountability in the way the finances will be handled and a detailed report shall be made available to the public,” He said.
In his remarks one of the needy students at Malawi College of Health Sciences who have been seeking help from ACT Daniel Banda said the fees payment has been an outstanding challenge in his education background and the coming of the program is crucial to his career and future.
“I am grateful for the coming of ACT program to support students like me and this program will build and complete my goals and ambition. The program will be earnestly honored by my effort towards my excellence in studies and products that will as well foster the program to reach out to many students who are in similar situations,” he said.
The Initiative will be run by Ambassadors Charity Trust a registered Organization that strives on facilitating the provision of educational needs between students and willing stakeholders, and strict measures shall be put in place to ensure that the students pay back the loan so that the stakeholders should not face any inconveniences.
Education for All, Malawi program will benefit needy students from public and private institution and it will be incessant as the scholarship will be awarded upon scrutinizing the performance in terms of both academic and behavior.
