In Limbuli, Mulanje, an angry mob on Monday destroyed millions of property at Edgar’s Lodge belonging to businessman Edson Nachuma over allegations that he is behind a spate of armed robberies at Limbuli and Muloza trading centers in the district.
The mob also attattacked the businessmanhome.
According to the eye witnesses, the rioters went away with assorted property including two vehicles, plasma screens, beddings, office and house furniture and other valuable items.
The rioting follows an incident on Sunday night where unknown robbers killed one businessman only identified as George Moninji.
Meanwhile, police are yet to act on the matter.
