A defensive display from Bangwe All Stars helped them to get a point as they played out a goalless draw against Mighty Mukuru Wanderers on Sunday afternoon.
In a match played at Mpira Stadium in Chiwembe, Blantyre, the Nomads came closest to scoring on a number occasions but they were not clinical in front of goal.
After the match Bangwe All Stars goalkeeper Elias Missi was voted man of the match.
The result means that the Nomads have now moved to position three on the log table, level on 8 points with rivals FCB Nyasa Big Bullets who are perched on position 4 following their 2-1 win against Baka City on Saturday.
Bangwe All Stars have now moved to position 14 after collecting two points from four games.
Elsewhere, rookies FOMO FC beat Chitipa United 1-0 courtesy of
Chimwemwe Nyoni’s lone goal in the 20th minute.
Nyoni who was also voted man of the match, scored after connecting well a corner-kick taken by Duncan Mangwaya to give his side second league victory after beating Bangwe All Stars in their first match.
In Karonga, Kennedy Mwakabaghe, Saulos Moyo and Allen Chihana were on target as Karonga United beat Mighty Tigers 3-1 at Karonga Stadium. Precious Chiudza scored Tigers’ consolation.
In Lilongwe, Kamuzu Barracks (KB) beat Civil Service United 2-1 in a match played at Civo Stadium.
Olson Kanjira scored the first goal for KB just 3 minutes from kick-off and Zeliat Nkhoma scored the other goal in the 34th minute from the penalty spot.
Emmanuel Savieli scored Civil’s consolation after receiving an assist from Chikaiko Batson 8 minutes before the end of the regulation time.
The match between Moyale Barracks and Dedza Dynamos ended goalless at Mzuzu Stadium.
Silver Strikers remain top on the log table with 10 points after playing four games followed by Mzuzu City Hammers who have so far accumulated 9 points from the same number of games.
