As part of supporting women’s basketball in the country, Betway Malawi on Wednesday injected K3 million into the Bravehearts Women’s Basketball Team as they prepare to compete in international games in Zambia this weekend.
Speaking at an official cheque handover ceremony held at the ABC Blue Gym in Lilongwe, Chief Operations Officer for Betway Charles Phiri, expressed his company’s enthusiasm for the partnership.
“Through our Betway Cares initiative, we’re committed to empowering teams and promoting social responsibility.

“As a sports betting company, we recognize the importance of supporting minority sports teams like Bravehearts,” he said.
Phiri highlighted that Betway Malawi is dedicated to leveling the playing field for underrepresented sports teams, in addition to their existing sponsorship of the Silver Strikers football team.
On his part,Bravehearts Head Coach Dominic Munyenyembe expressed gratitude for the sponsorship.
“We are thrilled that Betway has chosen to support us, breaking the mold of companies typically focusing on football and netball.
“This is our first corporate sponsorship in over a decade, and it’s a tremendous motivator for the team.
“We are committed to making Malawi proud in Zambia,”said Munyenyembe.
With this significant boost, the Bravehearts Women’s Basketball Team is poised to make a strong impression in the international arena.
