Blue Eagles back on super league summit despite being held by Dedza Dynamos

By McLloyd Kudzingo

Blue Eagles FC played out a goalless draw against Dedza Dynamos in a TNM Super League match played at Balaka Stadium on Sunday.

Dynamos who started the league on a high note, went into this game coming from four straight defeats in their last 5 games.

Blue Eagles on the other hand were looking for another win coming from a 3-nil victory against Mighty Tigers last weekend.

This is the second draw for Eagles who also drew 1-all against Nyasa Big Bullets and are unbeaten so far with 8 wins from 10 games.

The draw means the area 30 side has now accumulated 26 points level with Bullets who beat Red Lions 2-0 yesterday at the same venue.

In Lilongwe Silver Strikers relied on Duncan Nyoni’s goal and Stain Davie’s brace to beat Kamuzu Barracks 3-nil at Silver Stadium.

Elsewhere, Mafco FC got an away 3-1 win against Mighty Tigers at Kamuzu Stadium.

Zikani Sichinga, Kingsley Nkhonjera and Stain Malata were on target for the Salima-based soldiers and Tigers’ consolation came from George Chaomba.

In another match played on Sunday, TN Stars got their second win after beating the hosts Rumphi United 1-0 at Rumphi Stadium.

Symon Chimenya scored the only goal of the match.
