Nyasa Big Bullets consolidated their lead at the top of the TNM Super League following a 2-nil win against Bangwe All Stars on Friday afternoon.
Lanjesi Nkhoma scored a brace in the first half from open play to help the People’s team maintain their position at the top of the log with 13 points.
Nkhoma scored his first goal 15 minutes in the first half after capitalizing on a defensive lapse for Bangwe before slotting past former Bullets goalkeeper Ernest Kakhobwe.
He then doubled the lead 2 minutes later with a simple tap in after beating Bangwe defense to insure victory for the defending champions.
Anthony Mfune could have made it 3-nil but his 65th minute header was ruled out for an offside.
After the match, Lanjesi Nkhoma was voted man of the match for second consecutive week.
On Saturday, Moyale Barracks will host Mighty Be Forward Wanderers at Mzuzu Stadium.
Blue Eagles will play Dedza Dynamos at Dedza Stadium while Karonga United will be looking forward to recover from their 2-1 defeat by Bangwe All Stars last weekend as they host Civil Service United at Karonga Stadium.
