Nyasa Big Bullets are in the finals of the CECAFA Kagame cup after beating Azam FC 2(2) -2 (4) in the penalty shootout in a match that took place at Azam Stadium in Tanzania.

Nickson Nyasulu scored the winning penalty to send Bullets into the finals.

After extra-time ended with the score locked at 2-2, Nyasulu was Bullets’s penalty hero after scoring the winning penalty.

Just like it was in the quarter-finals, Bullets got their first goal in the earliest minutes of the match through Bright Munthali who scored just 3 minutes into the game.

Munthali had a chance to double the lead after receiving a beautiful pass from Babatunde Adepoju but his effort was blasted over the cross bar.

Azam got an equaliser in the 67th minute through a Nickson Nyasulu’s own goal.

The home side then took the lead in the 73rd minute through Tepsie Evance but Bright Munthali completed his brace 5 minutes later to keep the People’s team back in the game.

The game then went into extra time with Bullets playing a beautiful passing game but still failed to get the winner forcing the match to enter into sudden death.

Yamikani Fodya, Hassan Kajoke,Chimango Kayira and Nickson Nyasulu scored their sport kicks while Miracle Gabeya’s penalty was saved by Azam goalkeeper.

Despite his earlier mistake that saw him scoring an own goal in the 67th minute, Nyasulu was confident to shoot home the winner that saw Bullets progress to the finals.

The People’s team will now meet Express FC of Uganda in the final on Saturday.
