Nyasa Big Bullets Reserves are the champions of the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) League following their 2-0 victory against Bangwe All Stars at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Lyton Chinong’one drew first blood for the Young Bullets just 13 minutes in the first half before Emmanuel Saviel sealed the victory with his 24th of the season 12 minutes before the end of the match.
In a third place tie, Monkeybay-based MDF Marine beat FOMO FC 1-0 at the same venue courtesy of a Gift Munthali’s first half goal.
As champions, Bullets Reserves have received K2.5 million while Bangwe All Stars went home with K1.5 million for finishing second.
MDF Marine and Fomo FC have received K750,000 and K500,000 for finishing third an fourth respectively.
Despite the loss, Bangwe All Stars have qualified as the region’s representative in the 2023 TNM Super League.
The winners, Nyasa Big Bullets Reserves can not be promoted into the top flight league because it is a feeder to Nyasa Big Bullets main team.
