Bullets win at Civo to return to Super League summit

Nyasa Big Bullets are back on top of the TNM Super League following their 1-nil victory against Civil Service United at Civo Stadium on Saturday.

Substitute Babatunde Adepoju scored the only goal of the match in the 49th minute after an assist from captain Chimwemwe Idana.

Adepoju has now scored four goals in the league this season, joining Rumphi United’s Trouble Kajani, Clement Nyondo of Dedza Dynamos and Royal Bokosi of Red Lions who have also scored four goals each.

Bullets have now accumulated 23 points, a point above Blue Eagles but the area 30 side have a chance to go back on top if they win against Mighty Tigers at Nankhaka Stadium on Sunday.



In another match played on Saturday, Silver Strikers came from behind to force a 1-all draw against Ekwendeni Hammers at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe.

Bongani Lungu scored for the visitors in the 50th minute but Stain Davie equalised for the central bankers four minutes later.

Silver are now on position five with 12 points while Ekwendeni are following them on number six with 11 points having played a game more than the central bankers.

In Kasungu, Iven Mwakapenda’s goal was the difference as Mighty Tigers beat TN Stars 1-0 at Kasungu Stadium.

The _Kau-Kau_ boys are now on position three with 15 points from eight games while the Kasungu-based side remain bottom with five points.

On Sunday, apart from the Eagles-Tigers game, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers will host Dedza Dynamos at Kamuzu Stadium as Moyale Barracks play Karonga United at Mzuzu Stadium.

Rumphi United will face Sable Farming at Rumphi Stadium and Kamuzu Barracks hosts Ekwendeni Hammers at Civo Stadium.
