The Citizen for Transformation Movement (CFT), the vibrant movement that was launched by activist cum Politician Timothy Pagonachi Mtambo  on 1st April 2020 has clocked three years .

In a public statement made available to 247Malawi News  and signed by the Movements Publicity Secretary Chimwemwe Maunde , the movement  wished to heart-warmingly  acknowledge all noble  citizens on Malawi  for supporting the revolution through a classic 2020-2023 embrace for a better  and well governed Malawi.   CFT had initially planned big anniversary celebration however these had to be postponed to a later date to make sure that that country is all focused on helping  the victims of the cyclone Freddy disaster.

“In respect to the movement core solidarity virtue, the anniversary celebrations are postponed to a later date. We wholeheartedly join the entire nation and the globe cheering Cyclone Freddy victims” said Maunde in the statement.

Timothy Mtambo, largely known as the face against the impunity of the previous regime led the revolution alongside his colleagues from the civil rights society. On 1st April 2020 he announced the formation of a political movement in what many thought was just an April fools day joke. Mtambo, known for his brevity and lack of fear declared at the time that “Each one of us as Malawians must demand that stealing, corruption, tribalism, nepotism must stop. We need to demand change now not a day after tomorrow but now”.  He went on to declare that “I will not tell you that I will transform you, but we will be a platform for transformation. I believe there’s no greater calling than public calling. Time to wear our revolutionary boots, step out & demand what we need”

The movement played a vital role in ushering in the new regime  and has seen itself doing several charity works  in helping the needy.
