Speaking at the event, the Malawi leader said in slightly over ten years, MUST has grown into a unique future – shaping centre of academic research and innovation with trailblazing capacity in progressive disciplines that resonate well with local and global development demands.
He emphasized the importance of higher education for the country’s development and the achievement of Malawi’s Agenda 2063.
He also acknowledged the efforts of the students, faculty, and staff at the institution in shaping the future of the country.
“As for you who are graduating today, given the educational privileges now at your disposal, it should go without saying that your status as a graduate places in your path endless opportunities and on your shoulders great responsibilities. You have the opportunity and responsibility to embrace learning as a way of life,” he said.
Speaking earlier, Professor Address Malata, the Vice Chancellor of the University, thanked the president for gracing the occasion in his capacity as chancellor.
She implored the graduates to continue working hard and to uphold the values of MUST, which include commitment, professionalism, entrepreneurship, and integrity.
