Malawi leader President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has emphasized the importance of empowering one another in all areas of life including religion.

President Chakwera was speaking at Masintha Ground in Lilongwe during the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of Kawale Assemblies of God Harvest Temple.

Chakwera, who provided a short, captivating history, tracing his own early years at Kawale Assemblies of God Church, described it as an honour for him to attend the commemoration whose theme was “Thus Far the Lord Has Helped Us”, extracted from the Biblical book of 1 Samuel 7:12.

He emphasized his point on loving one another in all corners of life.

Speaking earlier, Malawi Assemblies of God President Bishop Andrew Dube, who preached a message titled “Celebrating God’s Help and Our Hope”, said the event was all about recognizing what God has done at Kawale Church for the past 40 years.

Bishop Dube, on behalf of Kawale Assemblies of God Church, later presented a gift to Chakwera, who was once a pastor at the church before rising through the ranks to become President of Malawi Assemblies of God.
