Tuesday 21st November 2023 was a busy day in office for President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera as he received letters of credence from ten non – residential diplomatic envoys at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe.
The envoys are from the Republic of Angola, Canada, the Republic of Cuba, the Republic of Cyprus, France, Hungary, the Republic of Korea, the Republic of Serbia, the Republic of Sierra Leone, and the Republic of Uganda.
They have all emphasized their commitment to fostering stronger ties between their countries and Malawi.
Speaking in an interview after presenting his letters, Canadian High Commissioner, Marileydis Duenas said he is looking forward to building on the wonderful partnership that exists between Malawi and Canada and continue strengthening the cooperation in areas of agriculture, trade, gender equality and health.
Duenas disclosed the interest from several Canadian companies to invest in Malawi to help boost and rebuild Malawi’s economy.
