Chakwera returns home from Tanzania

Malawi Leader President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, has arrived in the country through Kamuzu International Airport from Dar es Salaam in the United Republic of Tanzania, where he attended the Africa Heads of State Human Capital Summit which took place on 26h July, 2023.

Malawi President, Dr Lazarus Chakwera on Thursday morning, left Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania where he attended Africa Heads of State Summit.

Minister of State in Tanzania, Saaada Mkuya Salum, Malawi High Commissioner Andrew Kumwenda, Tanzanian High Commissioner to Malawi Agnes Richard Kayola and Malawi’s Defense advisor at the Malawi Mission office Colonel Orton Msukwa saw off the President at the airport.



During the summit the president also held diplomatic and developmental meetings.

The Africa Human Capital Heads of State Summit comes in response to engagements with government focal points on the need to draw attention to the role of human capital in economic growth.

The Summit was held from 25th to 26th July, 2023 at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC) under the theme, “linking investments in human capital to economic growth and harnessing the demographic dividend, by addressing learning poverty and the skills gap for youth and women.”
