Chakwera set for Human Capital Summit in Dar es Salaam

President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera will leave the country on Tuesday 25th July 2023 for Tanzania to attend Africa Heads of State Human Capital Summit, Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Sunday.

The World Bank supported meeting will be held on Wednesday, 26th July, 2023.

A statement from the ministry says during the deliberations, President Chakwera will address the summit to promote Malawi’s interests in health, labour, youth empowerment, education and early childhood development for the achievement of Agenda 2063 of the African Union.



“The earoplane carrying his excellency the president and her excellency the first lady is expected to depart Kamuzu International Airport on Tuesday 25th July 2023 at 17 : 00 hrs. Their excellencies the president and the first lady are expected to return home on Thursday 27th July 2023 at 7 : 30 hrs,” reads part of the statement.

The theme for the summit meeting is ‘investing in people for building a high productivity, inclusiveness, resilient economy.’
