The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that President Dr Lazarus Chakwera will from Sunday, 18th August, to Thursday, August 22nd, 2024 undertake official visits to the Vatican and the Federal Republic of Germany.
A statement from the Ministry has confirmed indicating that President Chakwera will depart Harare, Zimbabwe via Robert Mugabe International Airport on Sunday, 18th August, 2024.
“During the visit to the Vatican, President Chakwera will hold discussions with Pope Francis and His Eminence Pietro Parolin before engaging heads of International Institutions based in Rome, Italy, in order to continue garnering support and partnership for Malawi’s development agenda,” reads the statement.
The Malawi leader will then proceed to Berlin, Germany where he will hold bilateral discussions with President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
The President is currently in Zimbabwe where he is attending the SADC summit
