Chakwera urges CCAP BT Synod leadership to preach message of hope to Malawians

President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera has appealed to the leadership of the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) Blantyre Synod to play a leading role in delivering a message of hope to Malawians.

Speaking after meeting a delegation from the synod at Sanjika Palace in Blantyre on Tuesday 16th January 2024, Chakwera said he knows the challenges facing the country but emphasized that not all is lost.

The delegation which was led by Moderator Rev. Dr. Humphreys Zyambo included his deputy Rev. Anne Kapinda, General Secretary Rev. Anderson Juma and emeritus Rev. Kelvin Mmangisa among others.

He stressed the importance of a mindset change for the realisation of Malawi Vision 2063 and called on the church to be in the forefront in providing hope.

President Chakwera expressed encouragement at the synod’s commitment to partnering with his government.

In his remarks, Rev. Juma conveyed the Blantyre Synod leadership’s commitment to fostering contact and dialogue during challenging times, aiming to collaboratively find solutions.

“Our prayer is that the Almighty God continues blessing you, your excellency by granting you good health and ensuring continued success of your leadership,” said Rev. Juma.
