Unemployed health workers can now breath a sign of relief following the announcement that the government under the wise leadership of Prisident Dr.Lazarus Chakwera through the Ministry of Health intends to recruit over 5 000 health workers across the country,
The health workers include 2, 436 health surveillance assistants as well as 1, 000 nurses and midwives.
In a statement, the government says it is also expected to recruit several healthcare professionals with relevant diplomas and degrees.
According to two separate vacancy announcements that we have in possession, the government discloses that it has received support from the global fund to recruit these health personnel who will be based at different health facilities scattered across the country.
Recently, there have been concerns from unemployed nurses and midwives, asking government to employ them as they are struggling to provide basic necessities in their day to day life.
