Chakwera’s Tonse Govt recruits 5,710 primary school teachers

In an effort to increase the number of teachers in primary schools, the Malawi government under the leadership of President Lazarus Chakwera , through the Ministry of Education says it has recruited 5,710 teachers under the IPTE 13 and 14 cohorts.

In a statement 247 Malawi News has in possession, the government is requesting the teachers under the mentioned cohorts to visit their relevant District Education Manager ( DEM) offices in various districts with their original certificates and National IDs for confirmation from 4 to 6 January 2023.



The statement further says that the government is currently processing GP1 forms and allocation of schools for the teachers.

” The Ministry of Education is further requesting IPTE 15 Cohort to fill up the teaching spaces left by the recruited IPTE 13 and 14 Teachers as Auxiliary Teachers (AT) under MERP Program, ” reads the statement in part.
