Member of Parliament (MP) for Nkhotakota North Constituency, Henry Chimunthu Banda, has urged government to start building double-story school blocks in the country to address the issue of limited space in schools.
He made the remarks on Monday after the official handover ceremony of new school blocks built by the Icelandic government at Dwangwa Primary School.
“We are facing challenges in finding available land to construct school infrastructure. Our request is for the government to consider building double-story or two-story buildings,” said Chimunthu Banda.
On his part,Head of Mission for the Embassy of Iceland,David Bjarnason,assured that his government will continue to support efforts to improve Malawi’s education standards.
