Former Nyasa Big Bullets player and Flames midfielder Chimwemwe Idana will be without a team until July this year despite passing trials at South Africa’s DSTV Premiership side South Sekhukhune United.
Idana left the country for South Africa where he impressed the team’s technical panel but has been told that he will only be signed in July this year because the team’s quota is full.
The 2020/21 TNM Super Player of the Season left Nyasa Big Bullets in January this year, after failing to agree on contract extension terms.
After the development, Idana was linked with a move to capital city giants Silver Strikers but the two sides are reported to have failed to reach an agreement.
Meanwhile, the midfielder, who was also linked with moves to some Tanzanian clubs, has been dropped by Flames coach Mario Marinica in the team’s preparations for next month’s back to back 2023 AFCON Qualifying matches against Egypt.
