Don’t panic,we have adequate ARVs-Ministry of Health

By Chisomo Phiri

The Ministry of Health has moved to calm fears among people living with HIV and AIDS, assuring them that there is an adequate supply of antiretroviral (ARV) medication in the country.

This comes after the American government announced that it would be reviewing its aid to Malawi and other countries, sparking concerns among those relying on ARV treatment.

The Ministry of Health, through a media statement signed by its Secretary Dr. Samson Mdolo, has emphasized that the country has sufficient stocks of ARV medication, test kits, and other essential supplies.

The statement adds that all health facilities have been prepared to ensure uninterrupted services.

Over 900,000 people in Malawi are HIV positive and receive ARV treatment.
