Multichoice Africa Holdings (MAH) has announced the resumption of DStv services in Malawi.
In a statement, MAH say they are happy to be resuming services in Malawi and they have assured their customers that they can start accessing their services as before.
They say as part of goodwill to their customers, the will provide free access to their Malawian customers who have been active for at least once within the current year from and who have an operational Dstv decoder on their premium package for nine days.
The free service will run from December 6 to December 14, 2023.
“We would like to inform our customers that we are reactivating all their payment platforms to enable the resumption of the payment of subscription fees as per the price schedule effective August 1,” reads the statement in part, which has been signed by MAH group executive corporate affairs and stakeholder management Keabetswe Modimoeng.
MAH suspended the services months ago after a legal battle with Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) over tariffs hike by the services provider.
MACRA argued Multichoice Malawi (MCM) did not seek consent from it when it was raising the prices.
But a High Court ruling faulted MACRA for acting outside its jurisdiction, saying MCM does handle DSTV tarriffs.
