As the search for maximum points in the TNM Super League continues, Ekwendeni Hammers have beaten Blue Eagles FC 1-nil to dislodge fellow northern region side Chitipa United on fourth position on the log table.

Captain Blessings Singini was the hero of the day as he was voted man of the match and scored the only goal of the match from a free kick in the 32nd minute.

Ekwendeni have so far accumulated 18 points, a point above Chitipa United while the Area 20 side are down to position 8 with 15 points.

Elsewhere, Kamuzu Barracks beat Mighty Tigers by the same 1-nil margin at Mpira Stadium in Blantyre.

Gregory Nachipo scored with a simple tap in just six minutes before half time to give the Lilongwe-based soldiers maximum points.

KB are now on number seven with 15 points while the Kau-Kau boys are in position 11 after accumulating 12 points.

In Dedza, Clement Nyondo scored a brace as Dedza Dynamos beat Mafco FC 2-1 at Dedza Stadium.

Nyondo drew first blood for the home side from the penalty spot in the 5th minute and scored the second in the 57th minute to ensure maximum points for the Dynamos.

Martin Masoatheka scored Mafco’s consolation in the 88th minute.

Dedza Dynamos are on 10th position with 14 points while Mafco are perched on position 13 with 11 points after playing 11 games.

In Lilongwe, Civil Service United scored in the earliest minutes and at the very end of the match to beat struggling Bangwe All Stars at Civo Stadium.

Binwell Katinji scored the opener for the home side just two minutes from kick-off and Chikaiko Batson scored the winner at 90 minutes.

The visitors got their consolation through goalkeeper Raham John who scored from a free kick in the 81st minute.

John becomes the second goalkeeper after former Blue Eagles goalkeeper Brighton Munthali, to score from a free kick this season.

Ironically, the first goal from a goalkeeper by Brighton Munthali was also scored against Civil Service United.

Following the victory, Civil are now in ninth position with 14 points while Bangwe remain second from the bottom with nine points.
