Eli Njuchi falls ill, cancels his weekend shows

Malawi’s popular reggae dancehall artist Eli Njuchi says he has fallen ill and has canceled his two shows scheduled for March 1, 2024 in Salima and 2nd March, 2024 in Blantyre.

The ‘Zitaye’ hit maker has made the announcement of his illness in a statement shared on his official Facebook Page.

“I have fallen and currently under prescription hence been advised to prioritize my health and well-being at this time. As a result, I  am unable to proceed with the scheduled performances,” reads the statement in part.

It concludes:”I understand the disappointment this news may bring to the Hive, and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused.

“I pray and ask for your understanding and support during this time as I work on getting better to return to the stage that I love most.”

In Salima, Njuchi was expected to perform at a music bash at Salima Culture Club together with Skeffa Chimoto and the Real Sound Band, while in Blantyre he was expected to perform at Money Men Club.
