The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) National Youth Coordinator, Emmanuel Thembachako, has emphasized the importance of empowering the youth so that they fully contribute to the social-economic development of this country.
Thembachako, who has expressed interest in running for the position of MCP Director of Youth, said in an interview that, if elected, he will uplift the well-being of MCP youth and young people across the country.
According to him, he will focus on discovering youth talents and creating job and business opportunities to support the government in achieving the 2063 agenda.
“Our youth are a very active, energetic, and vibrant component of any society, and they need support and direction to contribute effectively to national development. Development without the youth is a non-starter,” he said.
Tembachako has served in various positions in the first Malawian political party, including National Coordinator of the MCP Youth Directorate and Deputy Public Relations Officer for the Central Region.
He is set to compete against Baba Steve Malondera and Alfred Jiya for the above mentioned position during the convention scheduled for 8-10 August this year.
