Former chairperson for the Mulhako wa Alhomwe Cultural grouping, Leston Mulli has called on people in the country to join the Lhomwe people as they are celebrating their culture this year.
Speaking at Chonde in Mulanje where the cultural festival is being held, Mulli said expectations for this year’s Mulhako Wa Alhomwe will bring total excitement as people will be tasting different kinds of aphrodisiacs.
“Let us support Lhomwe people as they are celebrating this important cultural festival. It is a very important event for preserving our culture,” he said.
The cultural festival started with prayers on Thursday where members of the clergy prayed for survivors of Tropical Cyclone Freddy.
It is expected to reach its climax today Sunday.
