The Football Legends Association (FLA) says it has allocated K10.4 million from the proceeds of its recent international friendly match against Zambia to establish a medical scheme for its paid-up members.
The match, which was played at Bingu National Stadium(BNS) in Lilongwe, grossed about K17 million.
According to FLA board chairperson Jim Kalua, the process of establishing the medical scheme is already underway.
“Joining a medical insurance has been one of our priorities and we are happy that it is coming to pass.
“We promised our stakeholders that we would channel the proceeds towards this initiative,” says Kalua.
He has however, urged registered legends to pay their monthly membership fees to benefit from the initiative.
