Former Wanderers coach ‘Rahman Gumbo’ dies

Death has been announced of Former Mighty Mukuru Wanderers coach Rahman Gumbo.

Reports indicate that the 59-year-old Zimbabwean coach is suspected to have died of a heart attack at a hospital in Francis Town in Botswana after collapsing at his home in Palapye.

Gumbo’s death comes barely three days after parting ways with Botswana Premiership side Morupule Wanderers.

Meanwhile his former club Mighty Mukuru Wanderers FC, has released a statement in mourning their former Head Coach.

Among the key highlights, Gumbo will be remembered for guiding the Nomads to the clinching of the top flight Super League Championship in 2006 when it was in its first year of sponsorship by Telecom Networks Malawi (TNM).
