Malawi Prison has announced that four prisoners have been selected to complete their education in various colleges.
According to Prison spokesperson Assistant Superintendent Steve Make, two prisoners from Blantyre Prison and two from Mzuzu Prison were chosen for this opportunity.
The selected prisoners will pursue their studies at Domasi College of Education and the Malawi University of Science and Technology.

Make revealed that the two prisoners who completed their term of hard labor were leased to the prison, allowing them to continue their education.
This innovative approach highlights the prison’s dedication to providing inmates with a second chance.
The Malawi Prison Service has urged the government to continue supporting prisoners’ education, recognizing the transformative power of learning.
By investing in the education of inmates, the prison aims to equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to reintegrate into society upon release.
As the four selected prisoners embark on their educational journey, they will not only improve their own lives but also contribute to the betterment of their communities.
