On Wednesday, tragedy struck in Mzimba as four young boys lost their lives in a devastating bush fire while hunting for wild animals in the Mbulumbuzi Hill area of Kanjuchi, Traditional Authority(T/A) Khosolo.
The victims were identified as Shaban Nkhoma (11), James Mbewe (15), Denis Mbewe (11), and Misheck Lingison (13).

According to Jenda Police Public Relations Officer Macfarlen Mseteka, the boys had gone hunting after school, a common practice for them, but failed to return home that day.
A search party was launched, and their bodies were found the next day, along with their dog, in the ashes of the bush fire.
A postmortem examination conducted by medical personnel revealed that the cause of death was severe burn wounds.
The boys were from Njilika Village, Traditional Authority Mabulabo in the district.
