In Karonga, league leaders Silver Strikers left it late to beat Karonga United 1-nil courtesy of Stain Davie’s lone goal which came in the added time.

In Blantyre, what looked like a mouthwatering fixture on paper ended up to be a one-sided affair as Mighty Mukuru Wanderers massacred Mzuzu City Hammers 8-nil at Kamuzu Stadium.

Going into Saturday’s match, Hammers were third on the log table with 25 points but the Nomads looked more hungry for goals as they scored four goals in the first half to leave the visitors with no hope for a come back in the second half.

Isaac Kaliati and Clement Nyondo scored a brace each with other goals coming from Thierry Tanjong Sama, Mphatso Kamanga, Gaddie Chirwa and Misheck Botomani.

Elsewhere, it was a straightforward match for Creck Sporting FC as they led 2-0 by half-time against bottom placed Baka City at Aubrey Dimba Stadium in Mchinji.

In the second half, the Joseph Kamwendo coached side continued from where they stopped as Yamikani Tambala scored the third goal for the home side just a minute in the second half.

The other goals for Creck Sporting came from Peter Godfrey, Gift Kadawati and George Chaomba, who scored a hat-trick.

The match between Civil Service United and Chitipa United ended 4-nil in favour of the civil servants.

Festus Duwe who was also voted man of the match scored a hat-trick and Blessings Malinda scored the other goal for the homes side to add more misery on the Chitipa-based side who are second from the bottom on the log table.

Silver Strikers remain top on the log table with 40 points followed by Wanderers who have now accumulated 31 points and Creck Sporting are on position three with 26 points.
