Haiya Fleets Somba to win SULOM presidency

Nyasa Big Bullets Vice President Fleetwood Haiya is now the new leader of the Super League of Malawi ( SULOM) after defeating Tiya Somba Banda by 30 votes against 18 at an elective general meeting held on Saturday afternoon at Nkopola Lodge in Malawi’s lakeshore district of Mangochi.

At the elections,
Col. Gilbert Mitawa has been elected the Vice President of new SULOM executive committee.

Under Haiya’s leadership, football fraternity in the country should expect SULOM which has been in a stagnant stage for so long to revive.

Haiya is also expected to abide by his manifesto promise of setting up a professional and effective secretariat, as well as engaging in a vibrant commercialisation drive and ensure that clubs are financially stable.
