The High Court in Lilongwe has stopped investigations which Malawi Police Service was conducting on Martha Chizuma, Director General of ACB in connection with the leaked audio.
The court has also ordered for a review of a ruling by Mzuzu senior resident magistrate Godfrey Nyirenda who ordered Malawi Police Service and the DPP to investigate Chizuma on the leaked audio.
The ruling by Nyirenda followed an application by Frighton Mphompho for the court to commence criminal proceedings against Chizuma for revealing official information.
Martha Kaukonde , lawyer representing Chizuma said the high court has ordered that the ruling the by the Mzuzu Magistrate court should be brought before the High Court for review and that whatever processes which were ordered by the court below should be stayed.
Kaukonde has argued that the subject matter that resulted into the granting of the order by the Mzuzu magistrate court were already decided by another court in Blantyre.
