I am eyeing prizes – Chakwera declares ahead of presidential charity golf tourney

President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera has sent shivers down the spine of Presidential Charity Golf Tournament competitors saying he has worked so hard to improve his game and that unlike last year, he is in good shape to compete for honours.

To show his seriousness, on Sunday 15th October 2023, President Chakwera took to Mlambe Golf Course in Mangochi to prepare for the event slated for Lilongwe Golf Club on Saturday.

“Last year I had a good time on the golf course but this year it’s not just about participating, I am eyeing the prizes,” said Chakwera in a statement issued by State House Press Office.

“I have worked hard on my short game and putting. Let those taking part know that there is a new golfer in town and I will give them a good run for their money.”

Presidential Charity Golf Tournament is Chakwera’s own initiative that is aimed at raising funds for needy students from public universities and Tropical Cyclone Freddy victims.
