President and Commander in Chief of Muvi wa Chilungamo Revolutionary Party (MRP) Bantu Saunders Jumah, has described sanctions imposed by the United States Government not to allow entry into the country Malawi’s corrupt public officials as a huge blow to President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera.
Jumah said some of the public officers banned not to enter USA are Principal Secretaries serving in the MCP led Tonse Alliance government making President Chakwera to be ashamed of presiding over a corrupt government.
He has asked the US ambassador to Malawi to include the ban to 84 suspects whose names were submitted to President Chakwera by the ACB chief Martha Chizuma, Mercedes Benz gate and other gates to be added on the list of travel bans.
Speaking through his face book page followed by millions of people in Malawi and Africa, Jumah has advised US President Joe Biden travel bans will have no meaning to Malawians if they don’t include 84 corrupt public officers named in the ACB’s Report.
Jumah has pleaded with President Joe Biden to lobby his allies such as Britain, Germany, Italy, Spain and all European countries to issue travel bans to Malawian corrupt public officers so that corruption by politicians and senior government officials is dealt with once and for all.
He has appealed to the US Government and its allies to freeze assets and bank accounts of corrupt public officers in all foreign countries saying this is one way of telling the international community that sanity has been restored in Malawi.
The MRP President has asked the Government of Malawi to fire all corrupt public officers named in the US travel bans, all involved in Zuneth Sattar gate, Mercedez Benz and all other gates to send a strong message to the world that Malawi is not condoning corruption anymore.
“Let’s use patriotic minds, there is no way to keep corrupt public officers in government, government picture has been dented by corruption which is high among politicians and top government officials,” said Jumah.
He has appealed to Malawian workers working in the USA Embassy in Lilongwe to be patriotic to their country by telling the US Ambassador of the people who are continuing destroying the country through corruption practices to be added on the list of travel bans.
On a sad note, Jumah has condemned in strongest terms possible the buying of activists by the MCP led government observing that this tendency will influence future activists to join activism under the influence of money saying this will breed chaos in Malawi.
