Celebrated photojournalist, Ras Peter Kansengwa, who is receiving medical care at Artemis Hospital in India and was due to return to Malawi on Friday, will have to wait until next week.

This is because his flight has been rescheduled for next Wednesday at noon due to a change in schedule.

After undergoing all necessary medical examinations, Kansengwa was discharged from hospital to continue his treatment at home.

This is the second time Kansengwa has sought medical treatment in India, having undergone right eye surgery last year.

He has since expressed gratitude to the Malawi government and all well-wishers for their unwavering support.

Ras Peter Kansengwa, secured an air-ticket for medical attention in India.

He flew out in April 2024 for an eye treatment, a condition he was diagnosed with over three years ago.

The flight to India was courtesy of contributions from sponsors in response to Kansengwa’s appeal for support towards travel and other medical bills.

The never-say-die attitude of the photographer paid off after months of appeal for financial help towards treatment of his lymphatic system condition needing a referral outside the country.

Local medical experts tried but in vain to treat the eye infection since 2021 when he was diagnosed with the condition.
