Chairperson of the Karonga-Chitipa Cultural Heritage scheduled for October 18-19, 2024, Marumbo Mwasinga says the budget for the event is K50 million.
He announced this on Thursday during a press briefing in Lilongwe.
Mwasinga then appealed to well-wishers to contribute towards the budget.

“The entire festival will cost around K50 million. If we can have well-wishers and other stakeholders finance it, we expect to raise even more to ensure a successful event,” he said.
The festival will also focus on incorporating new technology, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), to help preserve culture.
The two-day festival will feature activities like traditional dances, urban entertainment for the youth, displays of local cuisine, and a market for local products.
Paramount Chief Kyungu, who is the patron of the cultural group, will grace the event.
The celebration will be held under the theme, ‘Unity in Diversity-Respect and Justice for All’.
