Kawinga FC leads CFRA Chipiku League

Kawinga FC have gone four points clear at the top of the Central Region Football Association, CRFA Chipiku League log table as they were awarded three points after Salima-based Ngolowindo FC failed to show up at the match venue on Thursday.

The development means that Kawinga FC have now accumulated 44 points from 19 games, four points above second placed St. Gabriel Zitha who have 40 points from 18 games.



Kawinga FC is remaining with three games to wind up the season while St. Gabriel Zitha are remaining with four games including the biggest fixture against Kawinga.

The Namitete-based side had a chance to go a point closer to Kawinga but missed the opportunity as they lost 2-1 to Luanar FC on Thursday at Kamuzu Barracks Ground in Lilongwe.

In other matches played in the K16.5 million league on Thursday, Support Battalion were 4-1 winners over Villa FC while Mbadzi United thumped Kamuzu Barracks Reserve 6-1.
