Minister of Information and Digitalisation who is also government spokesperson Moses Kunkuyu has fired back at former President Peter Mutharika’s Sunday address, dismissing his criticisms as the “tone of a desperate person.”
Mutharika’s televised speech took aim at the current Malawi Congress Party (MCP) administration, led by President Lazarus Chakwera, for failing to tackle the country’s challenges.

However,Kunkuyu has trashed Mutharika’s address, saying it does not deserve a response.
Kunkuyu argues that the former president’s administration was responsible for creating the very challenges the current government is working to resolve.
The minister has also accused Mutharika of turning a blind eye to the notable infrastructure and economic developments achieved under President Chakwera’s leadership.
Renowned political analysts George Phiri and George Chaima have also trashed Mutharika’s address for failing to offer solutions to the challenges Malawians are facing including hunger.
