Lawrence Kaunda launches three books

Renowned author Lawrence Develious Kaunda on Saturday launched his three new books at Golden Peacock Hotel in Blantyre.

The books are titled “Laudate Deus English Grammar”, “Business Novel (Ferrari or Budget Car)” and “Impi Biyeni” poetry book.

In an interview with our journalist Chisomo Phiri, Kaunda shared his inspiration for writing and publishing these books.

He said:”I want to help the youth in Malawi and beyond to change their lives through businesses and writing.

“My books aim to provide guidance and motivation for those who want to start their own businesses and make a positive impact in their communities.”

Kaunda emphasized the importance of writing and publishing books, especially for aspiring authors in Malawi.

“Don’t think about money, don’t think about the challenges, but think about the value of your thoughts and the impact you want to make.Keep writing, and one day you will publish your books,” he advised.

When asked about his memorable moments as a writer, Kaunda mentioned Chinua Achebe, Socrates, and Aristotle as his biggest inspirations.

“Their works have transformed me into the writer I am today.If we cannot write as writers in Malawi, then Malawi cannot change. We need to write more and more to bring about positive change in our country,”he said.

The author said the three books are now available for purchase, and encouraged everyone to buy and read them to support the development of writing and business in the country.
