Speaking in an interview after the four day competition, Old Mutual Malawi Group Capital Executive Officer, Rex Kadzongwe thanked all insurers for taking part in the event.

“This is one measure that has helped to bring about awareness among the communities on insurance issues.

“Through this competition, we have also witnessed many people registering for various types of insurance but a lot needs to be done to narrow the gap on insurance penetration in the country.

“The country has so far introduced various measures aimed at wooing many people into the insurance industry, but the penetration is still at 2.5 percent,” he said.

Kadzongwe assured the insurers that Old Mutual Malawi will be back in a bigger way with yet another exciting big financial support towards the competition in the future, to delight the competitors.
