Undergraduate and mature students at the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources(LUANAR) will have to dig deeper into their pockets following the institution’s fees hike.
In a statement, LUANAR says fees for undergraduate and diploma students will now be K600,000 from K420,000 per academic year.
The new fees structure at the public university, applies to students at both the institution’s Bunda and Natural Resources College(NRC) campuses.
The institution adds that Open and Distant Learning-ODL students will be paying K500,000 from K350,000
In addition, city campus and mature entry student’s fees is now at K950,000 up from K890,000.
According to LUANAR,the increase is attributed to high costs of operations at the institution.
This is despite the fact that the Malawi’s economy is not progressing well.
