Mai Mbambande sell t-shirts to raise funds for Elderly home project

Founder and Director of Mai Mbambande Foundation, Deborah Mbale has started selling t-shirts to raise funds for an elderly home project in Lilongwe.

The 23-year old, recently purchased land where she is planning to build a descent elderly home.

Currently, Mbale operates in a rented building at Nzama village in Lilongwe where she takes care of over 50 elderly women who have no place to stay.

Speaking to 247 Malawi, Mbale said the new place will help her to even accommodate more elderly women in a conducive environment.

She has since urged people of good will to support the initiative by buying these ‘Mai Mbambande’ branded t-shirts.

“Selling t-shirts will help to spread the word about the importance of taking care of the elderly. It is my plea therefore, to all Malawians to consider supporting this initiative by buying the t-shirts,” she said.

She further said, “This will enable us to build a perfect place for them which I believe will make their life more enjoyable.”

The t-shirts which are in different colors and have a bright eye-catching design, are being sold at K10,000.

All proceeds from the sales will be directed to the project.
