The Malawi Bureau of Standards ( MBS) says it has finalized and released twelve new Malawi Standards in its last quarter of the year 2020-2021.
MBS says the new Standards which are now available in the Standards Information at its head office in Blantyre and all its region offices a cross the country are sold at an affordable price and that they cover diverse sectors of economy.

According to the press statement this publication has seen, the following are some of the new standards:
- MS-ISO 10006: 2017 Quality Management Systems Guidelines for quality management in projects.
- MS 116: 2018 salted fish and dried salted fish-spesfications.
- MS 1331: 2017 Edible mushroom and mushroom specifications.
- MS 111: 2018 Dairy Farming Code of hygiene conditions of milking.
Established in 1972 by the Act of Parliament ( Cap 51:02), the Malawi Beuraeu of Standards( MBS) is a statutory organization that has a mandate to promote the standardization of commodities and their manufacture, production,processing and treatment. Apart from this, the statutory body also provides the verification and the calibration of weighing and measuring instruments of the commodities.
