Malawi Queens start preparations for Netball World Cup

Malawi national netball team, Malawi Queens have started training at Bingu National Stadium (BNS) in preparation for the forthcoming Vitality Netball World Cup

16 out of 17 local based players were part of the day one residential camp training.

Foreign based players, Mwawi Kumwenda, Joyce Mvula, Towera Vinkhumbo and Caroline Mtukule are also expected to join the camp.

The 2023 Vitality Netball World Cup is expected to take place from July 28 to August 6 in Cape Town, South Africa

Malawi is in Pool B alongside England, Scotland and Barbados.

This will be the sixteenth staging of the premier competition in international netball, contested every four years.

New Zealand are the reigning champions having beaten 11-time winners Australia by one point in the 2019 World Cup final in Liverpool.
