The Medical Aid Society of Malawi (MASM) has announced that it will be increasing monthly contribution rates for its members, starting from January 1, 2025.
In a circular to the society’s members, MASM Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ulemu Katunga says the decision has been arrived at due to the current economic challenges and to ensure the sustainability of the society.
Katunga explains that the board has approved a revision of the monthly contribution rates by 14% for the EconoPlan scheme, 12.5% for the Executive scheme, and 12% for the VIP scheme
He says the board is aware that the increase may cause pressure on its members and impact their expectations from service providers.
Says Katunga in a circular:”The board is committed to continuously monitoring and reviewing the society’s operations to ensure that members have access to the medical care they need while maintaining sustainability.”
MASM is Malawi’s first and largest healthcare insurance provider, dedicated to offering affordable, high-quality healthcare solutions to individuals and organizations across the country.

With a strong network of service providers and strategic international partnerships, MASM ensures that its members receive comprehensive medical coverage both locally and internationally.
