A large crowd of enthusiastic supporters gathered at the Chibavi Primary School grounds in Mzuzu to participate in a political rally organized by the Malawi Congress Party (MCP). The event, which was led by MCP’s second-in-command, Catherine Gotani Hara, attracted key party officials and government ministers who addressed the gathering.
Gotani Hara, who also serves as the Speaker of Parliament, arrived at the venue accompanied by several high-ranking party officials. Her presence was met with cheers from the crowd, as she prepared to address the people on the party’s policies and upcoming political strategies.
Among the notable figures present at the rally were Uchizi Mkandawire, the Minister of Information; Ken Zikhale Ng’oma, the Minister of Mining; and Jacob Hara, the Minister of Infrastructure. Other key attendees included Joseph Chavula, the MCP chairperson for the North South region; Kezzi Msukwa, representing the North North region; as well as prominent MCP members Harry Mlekanjala Mkandawire and Ken Msonda.
The gathering served as a platform for MCP leaders to engage with the public, discuss pressing national issues, and outline the party’s vision ahead of the next elections. The event also highlighted the party’s efforts to strengthen its presence in the northern region, which remains a critical battleground in Malawian politics.
As the political landscape continues to evolve, rallies such as this one reflect MCP’s ongoing commitment to grassroots mobilization and engagement with citizens.
