Malawi Electoral Commission(MEC) today released a programme of Presidential nomination papers presentation. The presentations are due to take place this Wednesday and Thursday. Eagle eyed observers have been quick to observe that programme shows that the torchbearer of the Tonse alliance is Dr Lazarus Chakwera.

Early this week MCP chief whip Sam Kawale received backlash when he posted on his Facebook that Chakwera is the torchbearer. On Monday morning , UTM leader addressing journalists at a press conference said the issue of who will lead the alliance is not the important one but focus should be on serving the people of Malawi.
