MPICO, a member of the Old Mutual Group, has demonstrated its commitment to corporate social responsibility by donating essential educational materials and a significant cash contribution to YANA Orphanage Village in Mzimba North.
At a ceremony held at Ng’ongo, MPICO representative Gomegzani Mkandawire presented exercise books, school bags, and K5 million in cash to the orphanage, which provides free education to 200 learners, including children with physical disabilities.
Mkandawire emphasized that the donation was made in recognition of the challenges faced by the institution in providing quality education to its students. He also took the opportunity to call on the public to support charitable organizations like YANA Orphanage Village, which are making a tangible difference in the lives of the less privileged.
Tusayiwe Munkhondya, Founder and Director of YANA Orphanage Village, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the donation, noting that it will greatly benefit the institution’s learners. This generous contribution from MPICO serves as a shining example of the positive impact that corporate social responsibility initiatives can have on vulnerable communities.
By supporting charitable organizations and initiatives, individuals and corporations can help create a more equitable and compassionate society. MPICO’s leadership in this regard is a testament to the power of collective action in driving positive change.
